How did American style Mexican tacos transform into taco rice, and become a staple in the remote island of Okinawa, Japan? That’s the question we’re off to answer today, and we’re heading to the original and most famous King Tacos in Okinawa, Japan!
The taco rice was actually quite tasty, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Spending lots of time eating in Hawaii as a kid, tacos rice is actually something I would have eaten as a kid growing up and fit perfectly with my upbringing.
Definitely when you’re in Okinawa, Japan, you have to try taco rice!

OMG Taco Rice! Greetings from Philippines! I have been to King Tacos before, and have tried multiple types of Taco Rice all over Okinawa! There are other places in their main city of Naha that you can try this dish if you can't rent a car! Go look up Jango Jango along Kokusai Dori! This dish is so satisfying! If you're the type of person who likes kebab or shawarma meat, veggies and sauce on top of rice, then I definitely feel like you would love Taco Rice!
Looks good 😊
