We like to talk about making stuff, and we like small arms and larger defensive military equipment. That’s why we spent part of last week in California, meeting different startups doing cool stuff.

I like how you mispronounce it El Segoondo.
I am getting baptized today. The daily Jesus devotional has a been a huge part of my transformation in Jesus Christ. After over 10 years of addiction and sin, God chased me down as I earn over €250,000 and my old life will be burried today as I am washed clean of my past in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you for this community and guidance on my Journey!
Citizen defense industry in commiefornia? Yeah right.
Looks like you may not know what you’re talking about….El Segundo is where Howard Hughes had his gigantic aerospace company. Once it fell apart, Boeing, Lockheed and Northrop came in and purchased parts of the old Hughes companies as their infrastructure was already there. The small machining shops grew from the needs of those companies.
In terms of new companies moving to El Segundo, it’s still in California and we have some of the most restrictive policies for businesses in the nation and since 2020 have lost Tesla, HP, chevron, Oracle, Charles Swab, Space X, Palantir….and the list of companies leaving California continue to grow every year.

Too funny I’m headed to el segundo in a few hours to set a precast vault for Edison. Local 12 SoCal baby
Looking for companies to steal out of state now? Interesting play.
So, you're going to wear a war poet shirt, did you at least get one photograph of Sanford and Son?
Industry so much like an ecology. Having more companies with different complementary abilities and needs makes everyone healthier. That's whats so pernicious about off-shoring. Each company we lose weakens all the remaining ones.
I was there about 10 years ago working at a power plant. Its still a total fucking shithole.
