Been studying for a year, looking for my first role as full stack… id literally take anything.
Remote employees gives you access to more talent. Good engineers can work remotely and the sf argument is a limiting belief.
Doing everything at a startup can be fun until it goes bankrupt.
really good video, back to back bangers
0,5% can either be CRAZY GOOD, or a very poor deal for the engineer joining.
Depending on which startup phase he joins in at. And if he isn't "JUST" an engineer, and does more as the startup is in its earlier phase.
Startups have pros and cons. They offer the most opportunity to move up quickly. I went from founding engineering to head of our engineering department in one year. Paid $160k for engineer role though
you should read a comments on this platform ^_^ but you don't care
pretty good video but very rosey view on startups. You didn't talk about NPVing the value of your equity due to time to liquditity or talk about exercise window, or all the other ways employees can get screwed. Truth is that there's no way to ever make the math work in favor of the startup. the only reason to join a startup is because of the experience.
Good info, but… Yay, Capitalism… Hopefully you are abled body to play this BS game.
this is not so bad….I worked without a salary with 11% equity then got reduced to 8% and it was a BIG FUCKING mistake to agree to work there
